BENJAMIN Child Support Society is a non-profit
philanthropic organization founded, managed and supervised
by men and women who grew up in an Evangelical orphanage
in Katerini Greece, during the 1950s.
In 1994,
grateful for the love and support we received during those
difficult years, from people who did not know us but who
knew the love of God, we established BENJAMIN
to help other orphan and abandoned children.
Religion that
God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
'To look after orphans and widows in their
distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the
world'
The Board
of Directors consisting of 5 members, all
grew up in the same orphanage.
Harry
Anastasiou our President and Joan, his wife
supervise all our projects.
Interview with Harry and Joan Anastasiou.
Anna
Kefalas who grew up in the same orphanage, in
1959 was adopted in USA and now heads our BENJAMIN
office in L.A. Please read Anna's latest letter, it will
certainly inspire you.
We
work very closely with MACEDONIAN OUTREACH,
a Christian organization, founded by our very good friends
Haig and Vula Rushdoony, helping the neediest of the needy
in the Balkan Peninsula in every way possible.
We also
work very closely with Ignatius and Nena Meimaris, founders
of Interbalkan Institute For Educational And Economic
Development.
All BENJAMIN
work is performed on a voluntary basis. No one on staff
gets a salary
Each
child is supported while living in his/her own family
environment.
Each orphan
over 8 years of age is provided with a New Testament
We
receive no funds from the state. All donations
come from people who are sensitive to the needs of orphans.
Income
tax receipts are issued for every contribution in Greece,
USA and Canada.
